Career Visitation Day (CVD)

For Juniors and Seniors only, CVDs may be utilized to shadow an adult, take a college placement test, interview for a job, or visit a post-secondary college or career campus. Juniors are allowed one day during the spring semester, and senior students may request two CVDs. Each day must be pre-arranged at least one week in advance. Obtain a CVD absence sheet from Ms. McCarthy.

College Cost Estimator

The Indiana College Costs Estimator is a free resource that allows families to see the true cost of attending Indiana colleges once financial aid is taken into account. The Indiana College Costs Estimator takes about 15 minutes to use and requires tax form data and other information. Once the information is entered, students and their parents can see the net cost of attending various schools. The site (linked above) offers a side-by-side comparison of schools and allows users to create "what if" scenarios to see how the price of college changes as financial and academic circumstances change.

Seniors: Important Information

Complete and submit college applications NOW! Most colleges and universities prefer students apply on-line, but paper applications are available in the Career Center.

Senior parents should begin the process of applying for scholarships and financial aid in the early spring. Watch the announcement updates for Financial Aid Night early in second semester.

Extra-Curricular and Community Service Activities

Students are encouraged to participate in sports, community service activities, clubs, or academic teams, and they MUST document these activities. It is getting extremely competitive to get into the college or program of your choice and to receive scholarships! Improve your chances by documenting everything you do in high school.

Funded by USDA and the State of Indiana, Indiana SUN Bucks is a new and permanent benefit program that provides families $120 per eligible school-aged child to buy groceries while school is out for the summer. Student eligibility information will be collected from National School Lunch Program (NSLP) operating schools through Data Exchange (DEX.)
